Mazda 323 Used Car Review
The Mazda 323, and it's slightly larger four door stable mate the Mazda Protege, is one of the most popular used cars on the market today.
Solid reliable, made in Japan, fun to drive, inexpensive
to own and maintain, and extremely reliable, the Mazda 323 is something of a
used car classic.
Capable of everything from full-out rally racing in Mazda 323 GTX
guise (turbo AWD) to everyday commuting, to daily driving, and even moving and
hauling (with the rear seats folded down the Mazda 323 is cavernous inside),
the 323 was built on a robust platform that could handle just about anything
the average driver would throw at it—including neglect.
And while the Mazda 323 is certainly no performance car, don’t
let the paper spec’s fool you: spot on gear ratios, light weight, and precisely-mapped
fuel injection make them far peppier than the numbers might lead you to believe.
The Mazda 323's weren't as popular as some of their
competitors when brand new, but these days good used ones can be had for
cheap--and they seem to go forever. The Mazda 323 was sold in many countries
around the world, and parts and accessories are widely available.
If you’re in the market for a good used car that holds up
well, gets excellent fuel economy, and is very fun to drive, the Mazda 323
makes an excellent choice.
